Netflix are hoping to jump on the video-on-demand wave with the new season of Arrested Development. However, those in the industrial model (UK ITV) refer to “the pleasure of deferred pleasures” and make an argument that ‘traditional linear television’ is here to stay.

Ah I’m re-watching the old AD just so I can really appreciate this season!
Can’t wait til’ once Uni is over and I can just gorge and watch the whole season in once go. Deferred TV is ancient history to me, especially with shows like Game Of Thrones, which I (personally) think needs to be watched a little more consecutively (can’t find the right word) to be really appreciated and understood, especially seeing that many of these HBO shows have deep and complex story structures.
